Arriving in Cochabamba

Cochabamba (CBB) is easily reached through Bolivia's main international gateways:

  • Santa Cruz de la Sierra (VVI): Regular international connections and domestic flights to Cochabamba (approximately 40–50 minutes).
  • La Paz / El Alto (LPB): International connections and domestic flights to Cochabamba (approximately 40 minutes).
    ⚠️ Altitude Notice: Please note that El Alto airport is at around 4,000 m altitude, which can be challenging for some travellers.

Travel Tips

  • Compare international and domestic flights separately: It is much cheaper to book a direct flight to La Paz or Santa Cruz de la Sierra and then a local flight to Cochabamba.
  • Connection buffer: If booking separate tickets, allow plenty of time for connections, as domestic flights may occasionally be delayed.
  • Getting around: Local transportation in Cochabamba is inexpensive, making it easy to move around the city.
